The despotic feast of the Epiphany was celebrated in an atmosphere of deep reverence and emotion at the Holy Monastery of St. Foteini in Smyrna.

Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna, in accordance with the Typikon of the Orthodox Church, presided over the holy services both on the eve and on the main day of the Feast.

At the services were also present Despina Balkiza, Gen. Consul of Greece in Smyrna, members of the Greek Diplomatic Authority and Military Mission to the NATO Headquarters in Smyrna with their families, as well as the Orthodox Community of Smyrna.

Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna presided over the Divine Liturgy for the Synaxis of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist Saint John and officiated, according to the unrevised Julian calendar, the Christmas Divine Liturgy which was attended by Slavic-speaking Orthodox.
