On Saturday, August 31, 2024, the Theological School of Halki held a special celebration for the feast of the Synaxis of Panagia Pausolypi, whose revered icon is enshrined within the school’s church. The festive Orthros and Divine Liturgy were led by Metropolitan Andreas of Saranta Churches.
During the service, Metropolitan Andreas blessed the artoklasia, the traditional ceremony of offering bread, at the conclusion of the Liturgy. The celebration was attended by notable figures including Bishop Kassianos of Arabissos, the Abbot of the Monastery; Bishop Antonios of Synada; Archdeacon John Chrysavgis of the Ecumenical Throne; and a delegation of professors attending the Halki Summit VI. Also present were Archon G. Stefanopoulos, Professor Emeritus at the University of Bosphorus, and numerous pilgrims from Greece and Cyprus.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in the Great Synodikon of the School. During this gathering, His Eminence and the Abbot exchanged addresses, and a banquet was offered, blessed by the presiding High Priest.
