On Sunday, November 27, the holy memory of Saint Frumentius, the first bishop of Axum and illuminator in Christ of Abyssinia, was celebrated with solemnity and reverence.
In the Cathedral Church of the community of the same name, in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by Metropolitan Daniel of Axum, who was joined by Archimandrite Father Chrysostomos Barberis and Hierodeacon Father Aidesios.
It is also noted that the Chargé d’Affaires of Greece in Ethiopia, Vasiliki Skalistira, the President of the Greek Community Odysseus Parris, the President of the Greek Sports Club “O Zorbas”, many believers from the Greek Community and Orthodox Ethiopians, Russians, Syrians, and Congolese, were also present for the Divine Liturgy.
After the Divine Liturgy, the blessing of the Five Loaves (Artoklasia) took place as well as the litany procession of the holy icon of the Saint around the church.
Afterwards, traditional hospitality was served to the faithful, offered by the Greek Community and the Greek Club.
