The offikion of the Protopresbyterian of the Ecumenical Throne was bestowed upon Father Emmanuel Servos, the president of the church council of the Church of Saint Dimitrios in Petroupolis.
On Saturday afternoon, October 26, during the afterfeast Vespers Service, Bishop of Kyrillos of Erythres, read in the presence of Metropolitan Athinagoras of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis the letter by the Ecumenical Patriarch regarding the bestowal of the offikion.
The Metropolitan of Ilion thanked Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and referred to his long-standing relationship with the Ecumenical Patriarch since his tenure as Metropolitan of Philadelphia. The Metropolitan of Ilion emphasised that the bestowal of the offikion to Father Emmanouil Servos is an honour to the whole Metropolis of Ilion.
On his part, Father Emmanouil thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch and the archpriests for this honorary distinction.
