The outgoing Ambassador of Ukraine to Ankara, Andrij Sybiha, was received by the Ecumenical Patriarch on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, and was received by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Sybiha, who was accompanied by his wife, Tetiana Sybiha, the Consul General of his country in Constantinople Oleksandr Gaman, and the Consul Maxim Vdovichenko, asked for the wish and blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch on the occasion of his forthcoming departure from Turkey. He thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch for the good cooperation they had and for the great interest of the Mother Church and personally of the Ecumenical Patriarch for the Ukrainian people and for the granting of the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The Patriarch thanked him for the respect he has always shown to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and for his interest in the issues that concern the Mother Church, part of which are many Ukrainians living in the country.
