The Patriarchate of Moscow welcomes the initiative of Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem to convene a meeting of Orthodox primates in Amman, Jordan.
“Someone had to take the initiative to invite the brothers of the Churches to discuss the current difficulties and differences. It is very good that this initiative comes from the primate of the oldest, first Orthodox Church which is the Mother of all others,” the deputy head of the External Church Relations Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, Protoiereus Nikolay Balashov, told Russian news agency Interfax.
According to him the Russian Orthodox Church is ready to support any efforts aimed at the development of brotherly communion and dialogue between the local Orthodox Churches.
