From April 29 to May 10, 2026, the crypt of the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade will host the exhibition “The Saint Sava Theological School: From Foundation to Renewal,” curated by Deacon Budimir Kokotović.
The Serbian Orthodox Theological School of Saint Sava in Belgrade continues the tradition of the first theological school in Serbia, originally founded as early as 1810 in what is now the country’s capital.
Due to unfavorable historical circumstances, it ceased operating just three years after its establishment and remained closed for twenty-three years, until its restoration in 1836. From that time until today, for a full 190 years, the Theological School has educated clergy of the Serbian people, as well as prominent representatives and intellectuals of Serbian society.
Through this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the history of the School, its significant figures, and valuable documents from its life, as well as with the restoration of the oldest secondary school in the city of Belgrade.
