European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas said yesterday that he held constructive talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, stressing that the time had come for positive steps to be taken in relations between Brussels and Ankara.
“I welcomed Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to the European Commission today. We had constructive talks about the opportunities and challenges ahead. Immigration, security, people-to-people contacts and co-operation in the EU ErasmusPlus program have been at the center of the renewed EU-Turkey agenda. Time for positive steps,” the top European official tweeted.
