The election process for the new Patriarch of Bulgaria was completed.
It is recalled that the name of the new Patriarch of Bulgaria will be announced today at 14:30.
The process began on Saturday, June 29, with the registration of the representatives of the Patriarchal Electoral Assembly in the morning.
In the afternoon, a solemn vespers service was held in the Holy Church of Hagia Sophia with the participation of the Primates and representatives of the Autocephalous Churches, presided over by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop.
On the morning of Sunday, June 30, the reception of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the representatives of the Orthodox Churches took place at the Holy Church of St. Kyriaki, followed by a memorial service at the tomb of the late Patriarch of Bulgaria, Neofit.
Voting began at 09:15 and ended at 12:00, with the announcement of the elected Patriarch of Bulgaria at 14:30.
Afterwards, the elected Patriarch will proceed with the Metropolitans to the Holy Church of St. Alexander Nevsky, where his enthronement will take place. It is recalled that the triprosopon from which the new Patriarch will be elected are the Metropolitans Grigory of Vratsa, Daniil of Vidin, and Gavriil of Lovchan.
