Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon visited his birthplace, Crete, and the first stop of his visit was the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegian Monastery of the Holy Trinity Zangaroli in Chania.
There, the Abbot of the Holy Monastery, Bishop Damaskinos of Dorylaion, welcomed the Elder Metropolitan. Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Ierapytni and Sitia, Bishop Paisios of Apameia, the Grand Protosyncellua of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Arch. Theodoros Meimaris, the Archimandrites of the Ecumenical Throne, Maximos and Nikiphoros, the Protosyncellus of the Metropolis of Iapytni, Arch. Ambrosios, the Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Georgios in Karydion, Arch. Ieremias Chliaras, the General Archieratical Vicar, Protopresbyet Georgios Perakis, the Abbess of the Monastery of the Precious Forerunner, Gerontissa Theophora, the brotherhood of the Monastery, clergymen were among those attended the welcome.
The Elder Metropolitan Chalcedon was accompanied by Metropolitan Damaskinos of Kydonia and Apokoronas.
An official reception took place at the katholikon of the Monastery and then the Abbot showed the Elder Metropolitan around the newly established Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, which will be presided over by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel.
Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel thanked the Metropolitan of Kydonia and the Abbot of the Holy Monastery, Bishop Damaskinos Dorylaion, for the warm reception, conveying to all the wishes and blessings of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
