With the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, eight individuals joyfully entered the Orthodox Church through the sacred Mystery of Baptism on Saturday, July 26, the feast day of Saint Paraskevi. The ceremony took place at the Holy Church of the Annunciation in Western Perth, presided over by Bishop Elpidios of Perth.
The newly baptized candidates had dedicated many months preparing for this profound spiritual journey, receiving catechesis and instruction under the guidance of Archpriest Emmanuel Stamatiou of the Ecumenical Throne.
Bishop Elpidios conveyed to all the newly baptized the paternal love and heartfelt blessings of Archbishop Makarios. He also highlighted the meaning and symbolism of the Baptismal service, emphasizing the spiritual rebirth that occurs through the grace of the Holy Spirit.
