The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate continued its deliberations today under the presidency of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, concluding discussions on the agenda and making the necessary decisions.
Among the topics addressed, the Holy Synod expressed deep concern and pastoral care regarding the ongoing seismic activity affecting Santorini and the surrounding islands. The Synod conveyed its unwavering sympathy and support to the local Church and residents of the region, sending a formal message of encouragement to Metropolitan Amfilochios of Thira, Amorgos, and the Islands.
At the conclusion of the session, Archbishop Sotirios of Canada, speaking on behalf of the six departing members of the Holy and Sacred Synod, exchanged formal addresses with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, marking the end of the current synodal period.
