Early afternoon on Friday, July 25, 2025, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived on the island of Tenedos.
Invited by the local shepherd, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, the Patriarch came to participate in the celebration of the island’s patron saint, Saint Paraskevi, as well as the consecration (Thyranoixia) of the Parish Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
The church had undergone a thorough renovation, generously sponsored with reverence by Mr. Athanasios Martinos, President of the Brotherhood of Offikialioi of the Ecumenical Patriarchate “Panagia Pamakaristos,” and his gracious wife, Mrs. Marina.
The Patriarch was accompanied by Grand Syncellus Archimandrite Hieronymos, Patriarchal Deacon Fotios Poulopoulos, and the George Zeitunlou from the Patriarchal staff.
