The Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki has announced the official visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Thessaloniki, from Wednesday, January 28, until Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
The presence of the Ecumenical Patriarch in the city is regarded as an event of the highest honor and a special spiritual blessing for the clergy and the faithful of the local Church.
Within the framework of the visit, the Ecumenical Patriarch will preside over the festive Holy Services as follows:
- Friday, January 30, at the celebrating Parish Holy Church of the Three Hierarchs in the Voulgari area (08:30 – 11:00).
- Sunday, February 1, at the Cathedral and Pilgrimage Holy Church of Hagia Sophia (08:00 – 10:30).
- Monday, February 2, at the celebrating Parish Holy Church of the Presentation of Christ, on Egnatia Street (08:30 – 11:00).
At the same time, a series of pastoral and charitable visits has been scheduled.
Specifically:
- Saturday, January 31, at 10:30 a.m., he will visit the Holy Church of Saint Panteleimon at Hippokration Hospital.
- Monday, February 2, at 12:00 noon, the Parish Holy Church of Panagia Evangelistria (Evangelistria Cemetery), and at 12:30 p.m., the Parish Holy Church of Saint Paul, as well as the adjacent Chapel of the Philoptochos Brotherhood of Men of Thessaloniki.
The Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki extends an open invitation to the clergy and the faithful people of the city to participate in the liturgical and ecclesiastical events, honoring this historic visit of the Primate of Orthodoxy.
