The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will celebrate his name day on his native island of Imbros, in the presence of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches.
The name day of the Ecumenical Patriarch will be jointly celebrated by Patriarch Daniel of Romania and Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria.
The Holy Metropolis of Imbros and Tenedos has released the official program for the Patriarchal Name Day celebrations, which is as follows:
Tuesday, June 9, 2026
- Arrival and official welcome of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the other Primates at the port of Imbros.
- Welcome ceremony in the square of Agioi Theodoroi (afternoon).
Wednesday, June 10, 2026
- Official Doxology marking the arrival of the Primates at the Church of Saint George in Agioi Theodoroi (11:00 a.m.).
- Reception at the hall of the Cultural Association of Agioi Theodoroi, followed by the presentation of respects.
- Great Vespers with the Patriarch presiding at the Church of Saint George in Agioi Theodoroi (6:30 p.m.).
- Cultural event at the hall of the Cultural Association of Agioi Theodoroi (8:00 p.m.).
