Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew joined in prayer at the Divine Liturgy of the Sunday of the Prodigal Son on February 8, 2026, presided over by Metropolitan Irenaeos of Myriophyton and Peristasis.
Also present at the service were Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, Metropolitan Theoleptos of Iconium, and Metropolitan Maximos of Ioannina, along with a large number of faithful from Constantinople and abroad. Among the congregation were teachers and students from the General and Vocational High Schools of Karditsa, as well as pupils and educators from the 1st Primary School of Alexandroupolis, who were visiting Constantinople.
On the previous evening, the Ecumenical Patriarch presided over the Great Vespers. Following the service, he received Metropolitan Maximos of Ioannina, who was accompanied by a group of teachers and students from the SAEK of Vella, as well as groups of teachers and students from the General High Schools of Korinos and Thermaikos.
