On Thursday, April 3, 2025, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in the Phanar.
Among those in attendance were Prince Nikolaos of Greece, members of the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization Axion Hellas, led by its President, the Ms. Aliki Drakouli, as well as other faithful.
Following the liturgy, the Patriarch received the members of the Axion Hellas board in a formal audience. In his address, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew warmly congratulated the organization for its philanthropic initiatives and its committed service to the residents of Greece’s remote and borderland regions.
He also highlighted the enduring importance of solidarity with one’s fellow human beings, noting that “the Mother Church has always shown a deep and unwavering concern for those in need, offering spiritual and material support wherever possible.”
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. De Grèce expressed gratitude to the Patriarch for his warm welcome. Ms. Drakouli, President of the Board, offered a brief overview of the organization’s recent projects and ongoing efforts to support underserved communities.
The visit concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect and shared dedication to the values of service, compassion, and community support.
