The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Church in the Phanar.
After the completion of the Divine Liturgy, the Ecumenical Patriarch performed a Trisagion for the repose of the souls of those who fell in the ongoing war in Ukraine and of all the orthodox Orthodox Christians who have fallen asleep for centuries, mentioning the names of those for whom the huts were built.
Archbishop Eugenios of Crete, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Ierapytni and Sitia, and the new Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Prodromos prayed together, along with clergymen of the Church in Crete, Archons and faithful of Constantinople and abroad.
Afterwards, the Ecumenical Patriarch received the Archbishop of Crete and Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Sitia, together with the new Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, who received, before his enthronement, the Holy Patriarchal Wish.
The Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated him on his worthy unanimous election and wished him a fruitful shepherding.
