During his visit to the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Bischwiller, France, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Ecumenical Patriarch performed a Trisagion service for the repose of the soul of the late Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, with whom he shared a brotherly friendship for many years.
On the morning of the same day, the Patriarchal Vicar, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, officiated a Trisagion service at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in the Phanar, accompanied by the clergy of the Patriarchal Court.
The Ecumenical Patriarch plans to travel to Tirana to preside over the funeral service of the late Archbishop Anastasios, commending him to eternity alongside his fellow co-celebrants.
