On the occasion of the feast of the Holy Apostle Philip, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited the Şişli Cemetery, where he offered a Trisagion service at the grave of the late Metropolitan Philip of Tyana (1941–1997), who had served for many years as one of his close collaborators.
The Patriarch’s visit was marked by solemnity and reverence, as he prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed hierarch and recalled his long-standing service to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and his valuable contribution to the Church.
Metropolitan Philip of blessed memory is remembered with deep respect for his dedication, humility, and unwavering commitment to the ministry of the Church, as well as for the many years during which he faithfully assisted the Ecumenical Patriarch.
