Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew extended his paternal congratulations to Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Patriarchal Office, for the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation. The defense took place on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Law School of Cardiff University.
The dissertation was entitled “The Creation of a System of Orthodox Canon Law: The Case of the Pedalion (1800),” and Archpriest Aetios was awarded a Doctorate in Law with a specialization in Canon Law.
Shortly after, Archpriest Aetios will depart from London to Rome, where he will participate as a member of the Patriarchal Delegation, led by Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, at the Throne Celebration of the Church of Rome, honoring the Feast of the Holy Primates Peter and Paul.
