On the afternoon of Sunday, August 10, 2025, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Paraklesis Service at the Church of Panagia Elpidos in Kontoskalion.
In prayerful attendance were Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, Overseer of the Hypsomathia District, clergy, and numerous faithful.
In his address following the service, the Patriarch spoke about the Most Holy Theotokos, highlighting the deep reverence and devotion the faithful hold toward her. He noted that this devotion is vividly expressed through the beauty and dignity of her church in Kontoskalion.
Immediately afterward, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew inaugurated the new Community Hall, extending his warm congratulations to its benefactor, Dr. Vasileios Vagenas from Athens.
Earlier that morning, the Patriarch was present in prayer during the Divine Liturgy at the venerable Patriarchal Church, where Metropolitan Theoliptos of Iconium presided.
