Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew went today, Tuesday, March 2, 2021, to Ankara, where He attended an event held at the Presidential Palace.
During the event the President of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, presented in front of a large audience, consisting of politicians, diplomats, representatives of religious communities and minorities, Supreme Judges, Academics, etc. – a series of political reforms entitled “Action Plan on Human Rights”.
The Turkish President welcomed warmly the Ecumenical Patriarch and the other leaders and representatives of the religious communities.
Then, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his warm wishes to the Ecumenical Patriarch, on the occasion of His birthday, and offered Him a symbolic gift.
The Ecumenical Patriarch, who is going to return to Constantinople on the same day, was accompanied by Archim. Joachim, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod.
