Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended the funeral service of the late Leonidas Asteris, which was held at the Patriarchal Cathedral on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The funeral service was presided over by Metropolitan Theoliptos of Iconium, accompanied by Metropolitans Stephen of Kallioupolis and Madytos and Maximos of Silyvria.
The Mother Church’s condolences were conveyed by Grand Archdeacon Alexander.
The eulogy was delivered by third-ranking Deacon, Barnabas.
Metropolitans Eirinaios of Myriophyton and Peristasis, Athenagoras of Kydonia, Ioakeim of Bursa, Bishops Benjamin of Tralleis and Paisios of Xanthopolis, clergy of the Patriarchal Court, the Archdiocese of Constantinople, and neighboring Metropolises, along with the Archons of the Great Church of Christ, relatives of the deceased, and representatives of the chanters, were present.
The burial of the late Leonidas Asteris took place at the Cemetery of the Tramsfiguration in Şişli.
