On Sunday afternoon, 15 September 2024, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was present at an anniversary event which was organized by the active Community of Neochorion on the Bosphorus, during which the official screening of the Documentary for the centenary of the historical expatriate newspaper “Apogevmatini”, entitled “100 – No one is born, No one dies without the Apogevmatini newspaper” took place.
Ms. Melike Çapan, journalist and creator of the Documentary, Mr. Michalis Vasiliadis, journalist, and Mr. Minas Vasiliadis, Editor-Director of Apogevmatini Newspaper, and Mrs. Sibel Güneş, Secretary General of the Turkish Editors’ Union, all welcomed the guests and offered an address. The President of the Ecclesiastical Community, Mr. Nikolaos Kalamaris, addressed a greeting also.
Also present for the event were, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kyrdonia, Overseer of the Bosphorus District, clergy, Archons of the Great Church of Christ, Community leaders, journalists and a numbers of readers and friends of the Apogevmatini Newspaper.
