On Wednesday noon, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived on the island of Imbros, where he is scheduled to preside over the 40-day memorial service for the late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
At the island’s port, the Ecumenical Patriarch was warmly welcomed by Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myron, as well as many island residents who honored the significant occasion with their presence.
Following the arrival, a formal reception took place at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Glyky, Imbros, marking the beginning of the solemn memorial events.
