Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew contacted Patriarch John X of Antioch by telephone yesterday, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, and expressed to him the concern and interest of the Holy and Great Church of Christ in the troubling situation in Lebanon and the wider region under his jurisdiction.
He assured him of his prayers and those of all in the Phanar for overcoming these dangers, for the peace and security of his ministry, and for the life and work of the Christians under his care.
The Patriarch of Antioch warmly thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch and informed him that he and those with him are not in immediate danger at this time. He also asked that prayers and supplications continue for them to the Lord of Peace, Jesus Christ.
