On June 29, 2025, the day commemorating the glorious and foremost apostles Peter and Paul, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited the Saints Peter and Paul Church in Berkovtsi, Kyiv, where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in honor of the parish’s feast day.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Bishop Arseniy of Bohuslav, parish rector Archpriest Petro Landvytovych, and other local and visiting clergy.
During the Little Entrance, Metropolitan Epifaniy honored Priest Maksym Shulha by granting him the right to wear the kamilavka (clerical hat).
Following the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Epifaniy delivered his archpastoral homily and offered a special prayer to the Lord for Ukraine, currently facing severe trials and dangers.
Throughout the liturgy, prayers were offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and the people, and for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders and civilians who lost their lives due to Russian aggression.
Additionally, the Primate ordained Kostyantyn Moskalyuk, a lecturer at the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, to the diaconate.
The service concluded with a solemn procession, after which His Beatitude congratulated the community on their feast day and Archpriest Petro Landvytovych on his name day.
In gratitude, the parish rector warmly thanked Metropolitan Epifaniy for his archpastoral visit, which coincided with the 15th anniversary of the church’s founding, and for the shared spirit-filled prayers.
