With profound reverence and spiritual solemnity, the established annual pilgrimage to the Church of Panagia Eleousa in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, was celebrated on the second day of Christmas, the Feast of the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The sacred services were presided over by Bishop Eumenios of Chora, assisted by priests of the Holy Diocese of Chora, underscoring the festive and deeply unifying character of the celebration.
In his homily, the Bishop emphasized that the Synaxis of the Theotokos constitutes a natural continuation of the Mystery of the Incarnation. He noted that the Most Holy Theotokos stands eternally as a Mother of mercy and consolation, a constant companion of the Church and a refuge for every person striving amid the challenges and trials of contemporary life.
The Bishop also conveyed the paternal blessings and heartfelt wishes of Archbishop Makarios of Australia to the clergy and the faithful, praying that the grace of the newly born Christ and the protective intercession of Panagia Eleousa may strengthen all in a spirit of unity, love, and hope.
