A meeting was held on Thursday between Archbishop Sotirios of Canada and Deputy Foreign Minister Antonis Diamataris, immediately after his return from Ukraine.
During the discussion, which took place in an extremely cordial atmosphere as the two men have a long-standing friendship, there were discussed issues of the Archdiocese but also of Greek expatriates in Canada.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the Archbishop on the upgrading of the Metropolis to the Archdiocese of Canada and the Archbishop in turn expressed his pleasure for the new tasks of Mr. Diamataris as minister, wishing him good luck in the difficult and important work he has undertaken for Greek Expatriates.
Mr. Diamataris finally emphasized to Archbishop Sotirios that the state would be firmly on his side.
