On Friday, May 23, 2025, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met with the Holy Eparchial Synod delegation from the Church of Crete.
Archbishop Eugenios of Crete led the delegation. The delegation included the following Metropolitans: Amfilochios of Kissamos and Selinos (who is also the locum tenens of the Holy Metropolis of Kydonia and Apokoronas), Gerasimos of Petra and Hersonissos, Kyrillos of Ierapetra and Sitia, and Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos.
Also present were Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, director of the private patriarchal office.
