Eleftherios Gerovasilis’ ordination to deacon was celebrated on Saturday, October 12, at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Perth, by Archbishop Makarios of Australia, with the participation of many clergy and congregants from the entire continent.
During the Divine Liturgy and the Ordination, the Archbishop wished the new Deacon many years without sorrows.
He further stated that “sadness keeps us to ourselves, is a state of self-absorption, introversion and isolation. In other words, sadness is a form of frustration because our will is not done. Every sorrow is a separation from God and our fellow human.”
The new Deacon did not fail to express his gratitude to God and his thanks to Archbishop Makarios for the gift of ordination.
