In the Metropolitan Church of Saint Stephen of Paris, Metropolitan Emmanuel of France performed the Divine Liturgy during the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
He also ordained Mr. Sébastien Jambou, spiritual son of Archimandrite Mr. Ambroise Nicoviotis, as a deacon.
The Metropolitan spoke of the great Feast of the Transfiguration, wishing the faithful the light of the Lord to transform their hearts and bloom spiritually in their lives.
Metropolitan Emmanuel wished the new Deacon Sébastien Jambou, whom, on the Feast of the Dormition of Virgin Mary, he will ordain a Presbyter to minister to the Russian Skete of Our Lady of Kazan in the Holy Metropolis of France.
Emmanuel emphasized the obligations of the clergy, reminding the new Deacon that he should serve the Church with fear of God and love for the brothers, especially the sufferers and those in need.
He urged him to be a philanthropist and unresentful, and to always obey the will of God and the sacraments of the Church.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan blessed the grapes and conveyed his best wishes to the congregation.
