Cyprus problem and stability in Eastern Mediterranean took center stage at Borell-Fidan discussions

At an informal council meeting in Brussels, EU High Representative Josep Borrell reported that discussions between EU foreign ministers and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan focused primarily on regional stability and the Cyprus issue.

Borrell noted that the council did not delve into Turkey’s internal issues but concentrated on matters of bilateral relations and the broader geopolitical landscape. The discussions were centered on addressing mutual challenges, with particular emphasis on ensuring stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and resolving the Cyprus problem.

Borrell emphasized the importance of these topics in shaping the relationship between the EU and Turkey and highlighted the need for continued dialogue to navigate these complex issues effectively.
