On the morning of Sunday, January 10, after the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolis of Zambia and the Greek Orthodox community cut the traditional vasilopita.
After blessing the vasilopita and wishing his flock a happy new year, in his short speech, Metropolitan Ioannis referred to the religious significance of the event. He also referred to the activities of the Metropolis last year and focused on new actions for 2021 and announced the organization of special events for the 200th anniversary of the 1821 Greek Revolution.
Then-President Iliakopoulos wished the members of the community a happy new year full of promise and faith for better days full of health, love, peace and prosperity.
He called on the faithful to support the events that will be planned.
