The Holy Archdiocese of Australia, bearing its ecclesiastical and moral responsibility to restore the truth, hereby informs its faithful and all those who have engaged with the relevant social media posts of Ms Vasiliki Morali, which she had published from August 2020 and maintained until recently, that Decision No. 88/2025 of the Three-Member Court of Appeal of Thrace (civil jurisdiction) was issued and published on 4 November 2025.
Through this decision, the Court ruled finally and conclusively that a series of posts made by Ms Morali on her personal Facebook page were knowingly untrue, false, and defamatory. These posts were found to be insulting and offensive toward the Archbishop, as well as toward other individuals and institutions of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia. Consequently, the Court ordered her to:
a) remove the specific posts,
b) publish a summary of the court decision,
c) pay monetary compensation, and
d) refrain in the future from making similar or related offensive and defamatory posts.
This judicial decision constitutes the logical culmination of the defendant’s repeated actions, despite the efforts made by His Eminence our Archbishop to avoid legal proceedings. Regrettably for her, for those who accompanied her course of action, and for anyone who engages in malicious, unethical, and manifestly unjust attacks against others, the most serious consequence does not arise from court rulings, but from the persistent inner turmoil that takes root in their souls.
Archbishop Makarios, while duty-bound to defend the institution he represents and above all the faithful of the Church, nevertheless continues to pray for the peace and healing of the souls of all those who are passing through spiritual confusion and inner storms.
