Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East received a letter of condolence from Lebanese politician Taimur Joumblatt.
In his message, Joumblatt stated: “What took place at the Church of Saint Elias was not only an attack on the Christians of Syria, but also on the entire Syrian people who believe in unity and are committed to building a just state that guarantees the security of all Syrians.
As I pray for God’s mercy upon the victims and a swift recovery for the wounded, I hope that Syria will continue on its path under the new administration, with the cooperation of all its components and steadfastness in the face of surrounding challenges and threats – so that its people may enjoy the stability, security, peace, and prosperity they rightfully deserve.”
