Bishop Silvester of Gulu and Eastern Uganda joined the Orthodox Faithful of St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in a special service to remember the life of the first metropolitan of the Orthodox faith in Uganda, Metropolitan Theodoros Nankyama of Kampala and all Uganda.
The memorial service was led by the Bishop inside the cathedral and after at his grave at the cathedral cemetery.
Bishop Silvester reminded the faithful that, in our Orthodox Faith, we have an obligatory tradition of always remembering the departed and praying for them because, our repose in the Lord does not mean complete dissolution of our lives but a start of a new life in Paradise (Paradiso) with our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Another service on the same commemoration was conducted at the St. Antonios Orthodox Church in Monde Luweero District which was conducted by the Metropolitan of Kampala, Jonah Lwanga.
