Metropolitan Athinagoras of Ilion, who is the president of the Integration Centre for Migrant Workers-Ecumenical Refugee Program (KSPM-ERP), a non-profit organization of the Church of Greece, and Ambassador of the Switzerland to Greece Olaf Kjelsen, signed a co-operation agreement on Wednesday, April 3, to continue supporting the actions of the Church of Greece through the KSPM-ERP.
At a meeting held at the office of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, the Swiss Confederation reiterated its confidence in KSPM-ERP actions, aiming to provide legal and social support to asylum seekers and refugees.
The one-year funding of the KSPM-ERP programs will make a decisive contribution to the continuation of the programs of the previous year launched with funding from the Swiss Confederation.
At the end of the meeting, Metropolitan Athinagoras, after conveying the thanks of the Church of Greece and of the Center to the Ambassador for the financial support of KSPM-ERP programs, underlined that “this cooperation holds a symbolism because the Swiss Confederation in this way recognizes the multidimensional work of our Church”.
