On Saturday, March 29, as part of his pastoral visit to Victoria, Archbishop Makarios of Australia convened a Clergy Assembly for the priests serving in the Holy Dioceses of Melbourne and Country Victoria.
The gathering took place in the hall of the Archdiocesan Church of Saint Efstathios, with Archbishop Makarios presiding.
Also in attendance were Metropolitan Ezekiel of Derby, Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar, as well as the local bishops, Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and Bish-op Evmenios of Country Victoria.
Among the topics discussed were the missionary efforts taking place in Madagascar, with Bishop Prodromos providing an update on the work being done there. Other matters included inter-Orthodox relations and administrative issues, for which the Archbishop provided appropriate guidance.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of heartfelt wishes between the Archbishop, the hierarchs, and the clergy for the remainder of Holy and Great Lent and the upcoming celebration of the Resurrection of Christ.
