On Thursday, July 9, 2026, following the Matins Service at the Holy Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Christ in Accra, a joint gathering of the clergy of the Holy Metropolis and members of the Orthodox Youth Association of Ghana was held under the presidency of Metropolitan Daniel of Accra.
At the opening of the meeting, Metropolitan Daniel warmly welcomed all those present and conveyed the paternal greetings, blessings, and love of Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa to the clergy, the youth, and the entire flock of the local Church.
Metropolitan Daniel then introduced to the participants Mr. Nathan Hoppe and Ms. Santhe Loisos, representatives of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) of the United States of America, who are paying a short visit to the Holy Metropolis of Accra.
During this joint gathering, a fruitful and constructive discussion took place on matters concerning the spiritual life, the pastoral ministry of the clergy, and the active participation of the Orthodox youth. Particular emphasis was placed on the better coordination of the missionary ministry, catechetical work, the strengthening of parish life, the development of youth activities, and the planning of future pastoral and educational initiatives of the Holy Metropolis.
In his concluding remarks, Metropolitan Daniel thanked everyone for their presence, cooperation, and dedicated service, emphasizing that the unity of the clergy and the youth is a precious source of strength for the witness of the Orthodox Church in Ghana and for the continued advancement of its missionary work, to the glory of God.
