The assurance that the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, as well as he himself will always be by the side of the Halki seminary was given by the Minister, Makis Voridis, to the Bishop of Erythres and Abbot of the Holy Trinity at Halki, Kyrillos.
At the same time, Minister Voridis stressed that he would do whatever is needed in order to contribute to the efforts of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the re-opening of the theological school.
Another topic of discussion was also the synergy of the Ministry of Rural Development with the Halki seminary for the world-famous thematic gardens, which concern plants of the Byzantine period, the collection of the plants mentioned in the Bible, the Open Museum of Garden design, gardens of edible plants (vegetable gardens, vineyards, fruit trees and aromatic plants) as well as beekeeping and domestic livestock farming, which are important for the feeding of monks and visitors.
Reference was also made to the first synergy between the two institutions, that of the already existing memorandum of the Halki seminary with the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS).
