The Bulgarian Orthodox Church has announced the commemoration of the second anniversary of the repose of Patriarch Neofit of Bulgaria, who fell asleep in the Lord on March 13, 2024.
In its official statement, the Church noted that Patriarch Neofit left a profound mark on the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church through his pastoral ministry and spiritual leadership. Throughout his service, he bore witness to love for God and for neighbor, offering an example of humility, faith, and dedication to the Church.
On the occasion of the two-year anniversary of his repose, a memorial Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on March 13 by Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, concelebrated by metropolitans and bishops of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. Following the service, a memorial service (panikhida) and a trisagion will also be held.
The commemorative services will take place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Nedelya Cathedral in Sofia.
