On Saturday, January 9, Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia visited Chirundu at Southern Province of Zambia. Chirundu is a border town between Zambia and Zimbabwe for the feast of Epiphany and blessing the waters of Zambezi river.
However, due to COVID-19 pandemic and following the government’s guidelines, attendance was restricted only to a few individuals.
Archbishop Ioannis after the blessing of water led the procession to go to Zambezi river where he blessed the waters of the longest river in Zambia to represent the Sanctification of River Jordan.
Metropolitan Ioannis threw the Holy Cross into the waters of Zambezi.
