Bishop of Thespies: The catechist must not have a pin, he must be open to all challenges

by Romfea.news

On April 8, with the blessing of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, the Dialogue and Co-reflection Meeting of Priests and Young Officials of the 12th Archbishopric Region (Goudi, Ilisia, Zografou) took place.

The meeting was attended by Bishop Symeon of Thespies, Protesyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Archimandrite Simeon Venetsianos, Director of the Youth and Family Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, the Archieratic bishop of the Region, Protopresbyter Charalambos Panopoulos, as well as 70 members of the Youth Foundation.

Bishop Symeon of Thespies noted that the modern means of Catechism are to be exploited, as long as they keep pace with joy and enthusiasm.

The Bishop of Thespies also emphasized that Catechism is to talk to the children about our Love, Christ.

“If Christ is not our true Love, then we have failed as catechists, because everything in Catechism is an evidence to the loved Person.”

He stressed, among other things, that the catechist must not have a “pin”, that is, a lock. He must be “unlocked” and open to all challenges.

And this will be achieved if he is self-confident -in the theological sense of the term, if he increases his love to Christ and if he prays.

In closing, he encouraged those present to help children have high standards regarding their dreams.
