On the evening of Thursday, 30 June 2022 Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis presided in the Great Vespers of the Holy Martyrs Saints Kosmas and Damianos of Rome the ‘Anarigiri’ at the Holy Church of Sts Anarigiri, Oakleigh, Victoria.
During the Great Vespers service, Bishop Kyriakos read from the Wisdom of Solomon. A verse from the readings says that the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them, (Wisdom of Solomon 3:1).
The hymns of the service were sung by a choir of chanters from the District of Melbourne.
At the conclusion of the service, Bishop Kyriakos spoke about the lives of Saints Kosmas and Damianos to encourage the faithful and courage from them.
The following morning for the feast day of Sts Anargiri, His Eminence Metropolitan Ezekiel of Dervis presided in the Matins and Divine Liturgy together with the clergy from the District of Melbourne.
On the morning of Sunday, 3 July 2022. Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis attended the Holy Church of Saint Haralambos, Templestowe to farewell Rev. Fr. Antonio Cagnoni and to thank him for his service at the Parish.
Fr. Antonio Cagnoni is a graduate of St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox College. He has been ordained since 2005 and has been serving in the parish of St Haralambos alongside Rev. Fr. Elias since 2009.
Alongside parish priest Fr. Elias Kentrotis, Rev. Fr. Antonio has served and assisted the parish through regular Liturgical Services, Sacraments, and group meetings including bible study, seniors group, youth, and teen groups, and a broad range of other events.
Fr. Elias and the faithful expressed their heartfelt thanks to Rev. Fr. Antonio for his more than 13 years of service to the parish of St Haralambos.
