On Wednesday the 21 August 2024, with the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Elpidios of Perth officiated at the English Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helene in Perth, WA.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Bishop spoke to the group called Orthodox Parea, which is a fellowship gathering held every Wednesday night at the Parish hall.
The talk from Bishop Elpidios centred on the topic of Akriveia and Ecclesiastical Economy – understanding the role of leniency and precise adherence to the Holy Canons of the Church in relation to the salvation of the human person.
Bishop Elpidios thanked the Parish Priest, Father Terry Gerovasilis, for the invitation to address the Orthodox Parea gathering and reminded everyone of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s Apostolic visit to Australia this October.
