With the blessing of the Patriarch of All Georgia, Elias II, the Bishop of North America Savvas visits Greece for pilgrimage reasons.
On February 13, 2022, with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Anthimos, the Bishop Savvas performed the solemn and Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Dimitrios (Thessaloniki).
With the Bishop Savvas concelebrated the head of the Church of Saint Dimitrios in Thessaloniki,the Archimandrite Damaskinos, the Archpresbyters Alexios, Georgios and Nikolaos, as well as the Hieromonks of the Holy Diocese of North America, Ireneos and Ieronymos (emissaries in Greece for educational purposes)
At the end of the service, the head of the church addressed the Hierarchs of the Georgian Orthodox Church, as well as thanked them.
On behalf of the Holy Diocese of North America, Savvas thanked the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Anthimos, for his hospitality. He also spoke about the fraternal and historical relationship between the Churches of Georgia and Greece.
