An ecumenical meeting was held at the residence of the Bishop of the Armenian Church in London, Joachim Manukyan, at his kind invitation.
The Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain was represented by Bishop Maximos of Melitene, who conveyed the greeting of Archbishop Nikitas, accompanied by the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese Archim. Nikodimos Anagnostopoulos.
Among the participants was the Archbishop of the Coptic Church of England, Angelos, the Bishop of Kensington, Graham Tomlin, the Bishop of the Church of the Assumption, Awrahan Youkhanis, and the Ambassador of Armenia to London, Varuzhan Nersesyan, who raised the issue of the destruction of historic temples and monasteries in the region of Armenia.
There has been a constructive discussion about the protection of Christians in Britain and around the world. Bishop Maximos of Melitene referred to the issue of the lack of communication regarding the rights of Christians but also the persecution of Christian communities in the Middle East and West Africa.
A formal lunch followed and the next meeting was scheduled to take place next March.
