A meeting took place on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, between the London Faith Officers and representatives of religions of England.
Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain was represented by Bishop Maximos of Melitene.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of Scotland Yard in London.
The actions and the contribution of the Religious Service of the Metropolitan Police of London and the other Departments of the United Kingdom to the security of the religious communities were discussed, as well as the improvement of their cooperation with the representatives of the religions of England and with the individual Communities.
Bishop Maximos presented a program of cooperation and more effective communication of the Police with the religious communities in the fight against radicalization and the building of relations of trust between them.
The police thanked Bishop Maximos for his contribution to the planning of the action and the cooperation of the Orthodox Church with the Authorities of the United Kingdom.
